Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions are applicable to all Young Artists contests unless otherwise stated. If a contest has different terms and conditions, these will be clearly stated on the contest page / contest entry form(s).
By entering any of the Young Artists contests, you agree to accept and be bound by these terms and conditions. All entry instructions form part of the terms and conditions of Young Artists contests.
Terms of Entry
(Abbreviated terms of entry are provided in contest packs to schools/clubs/organizations by post that explains full T&Cs are available on our website.)
- Entry to any Young Artists contest is FREE and no purchase is necessary to enter or win a prize for individuals or schools.
- Work must be original (not copied).
- Copyright remains with the author. We cannot publish work without permission. The work is published in a named title (book titles are subject to change if deemed necessary). If the work is chosen as a winner the work will be published on our website & the book title is the name of the winning entry.
- In the case of co-drawn pieces of work, all artists will be accredited on the online picture proof and in the printed book. If permission is received, the artist's name and last name will be included. If permission is received by one parent but not the other(s), then the artists who we do not have parental permission for must still be accredited and their first name only will be published.
- Contests are open to different age ranges and will be clearly presented on any contest materials and contest web pages. Contests are also listed by age range: Nursery, Elementary, Middle & High, all ages.
- Contest closing dates are clearly marked on any contest materials and contest web pages. Young Artists accepts entries up to 28 days after a contest closes to allow for fluctuations in semester times in different states.
- Young Artists contests usually run once each semester. This is subject to change, but prizes for launched contests will not be affected.
- Unless otherwise stated entries are only accepted from USA schools/clubs/organizations or USA independent entrants. Please follow the rules provided on each contest page.
- If any contest results in less than 500 entries Young Artists reserves the right to cancel the contest & prizes and move entrants to an alternative contest instead.
- The promoter of Young Artists contests is Bonacia Ltd, Remus House, Coltsfoot Drive, Peterborough PE2 9BF, UK. Bonacia Ltd is a Limited Liability company incorporated in England and Wales with registered number 05368980. The VAT registration number is 102781343.
Publishing Criteria
Young Artists & contests are inclusive. We receive one entry per child. If the artwork is on the contest theme & family audience appropriate it will be offered a place in a book.
All entrants have a realistic chance of seeing their work in print. Entrants who are offered the chance of publication will be asked for parent/guardian's permission to publish the work. Published entrants are then considered for a prize.
- Being chosen for publication is not "winning" the contest
- Winners are chosen as the best artist in the book, based on their creativity, imagination, interpretation of the theme & expression of the piece.
- Winners are picked by Young Artists Team and Young Artists' Independent Adjudicator.
- Winners' must be published in a Young Artists book (permission to publish must have been given before the deadline provided to parents/guardians).
- There is no purchase necessary to win a prize.
- Student / Independent entry winners' names, ages, schools (if applicable), book titles, and artwork are displayed in the winners' section of the Young Artists website.
- By accepting the prize, student winners agree to their name, age, school (if applicable), book title, and artwork being displayed in the winners' section of the Young Artists website; school winners agree to their name, location, and book title the artwork is published in being displayed in the winners' section of the Young Artists website and this information is stated in a press release to local media.
- Prizes are as stated on each contest page. Student prizes advertised per book are awarded and announced upon publication of each title. School/Club/Organization prizes advertised per semester are awarded and announced in the next semester. Winners are notified in writing. Young Artists will never ask winners for payment for a prize, please be mindful of scammers.
